What We Believe

What We Believe

We at Palmetto Hills believe that we cannot discover new ways to “do church.” Instead, we rely on the foundation laid before us. These beliefs are found in the Ancient, such as the early creeds of the Church, but also through the church’s standards and documents, which are found in the Westminster Confession of Faith and the Larger and Shorter Catechisms.

To put it simply, we believe that:

  • The Bible is the infallible and inerrant Word of God.
  • We are saved not by our own doing, but by the free grace of Jesus Christ’s life, death, and resurrection from the dead.
  • We are called to serve the community in which God has placed us, as a light of hope.

Palmetto Hills is a member of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA).  What this means is that we are under the accountability of other churches in our denomination at both a regional level (called a Presbytery, which is made up of churches in the area), and a national level (which is made up of all the churches in the Denomination).
