Alex joined PHPC in September 2019 as the Music Director and became an Intern in 2021.
He was born and raised just south of Baltimore, Maryland and attended a classical Christian School where he developed a love of music and theology. While working on a degree in piano performance, Alex received a job offer to teach in Jakarta, Indonesia. He transferred his music credits and earned his BA in Liberal Studies from Thomas Edison State University in 2011.
In the following academic year, he moved to Cahaya Bangsa Classical School in Bandung, Indonesia to teach high school classes. There he met his wife Eska, who came to the school to teach Biology. After they were married in 2016, Alex and Eska eventually moved back to the Baltimore area in 2018 and to Greenville in July 2019. They have two children, Peter and Anneliese.
Alex is a seminary student at Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary and hopes to return to Indonesia one day with his family to serve as missionaries with MTW.
